Chocolate Cranberry Bars Recipe

2 cupsvanilla wafer crumbs (about 60 wafers crushed) (500 mL)
1/2 cupHERSHEY'S Cocoa (125 mL)
3 tbspgranulated sugar (45 mL)
2/3 cupcold butter, cut into pieces (150 mL)
1 cansweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk) (300 mL)
1 cupCHIPITS REESE Peanut Butter Chips (250 mL)
1 1/3 cupsdried cranberries or raisins (325 mL)
1 cupcoarsely chopped walnuts (250 mL)


    1. Heat oven to 350°F (180°C).

    2. In medium bowl, mix together crumbs, cocoa and sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Press mixture evenly on bottom and 1/2-inch (5 mm) up sides of 13 x 9-inch (33 x 23 cm) baking pan.

    3. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumb mixture; sprinkle evenly with peanut butter chips and dried cranberries. Sprinkle nuts on top; press down firmly.

    4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cover with foil; let stand several hours. Cut into bars.

    Makes about 36 bars.
